Subtl has unveiled a new, upgrade stak and I’m excited to do a deep-dive, comparing stak 2.0 to the first iteration. Subtl’s new makeup ‘stak’ is reformulated, refillable and redesigned!
If you’re a long time reader or follow me on social media, then you know how much I love Subtl Beauty and the original makeup stack. Whether I’m traveling for work or on vacation, a single makeup stack has been a lifesaver.
Subtl graciously sent me a few samples from the new ‘stak’ and I’m so excited to share with you my thoughts and comparing 1.0 formulas to 2.0 upgrades.
From the packaging to larger pans, keep reading to get reacquainted with Stak 2.0!
Subtl Stak 2.0 Packaging
The look and feel of 2.0 is different in terms of weight, size and functionality. Personally, I loved how compact 1.0 is and while 2.0 is slightly bigger in size, it has more product per layer and it’s refillable! Instead of having to purchase and replace full pans, you can reduce waste and save money with refills. The pale purple translucent packaging looks much more sleek too. You’ll get 3.9g of formula in each layer and three months of daily usage (but as someone who frequently used the 1.0 stak, some of my pans lasted way longer than three months).
New! Built-in Mirror & Brush
I LOVE the mirror lid. That feature alone will make a huge difference in my on-the-go makeup routine! The built-in brush at the base of the stak makes it easy for those on-the-go touch-ups without having to haul all the makeup brushes in my bag.
Lip and Cheek
I’m the most excited for the reformulated Lip & Cheek. Instantly I can tell a difference in consistency and staying power. Subtl brought back three shades and added a new one to the collectionc called Hibiscus Highway. Mauve in the Maldives is slightly lighter in color compared to its 1.0 counterpart but this shade is my everyday go-to that I carry with me at all times.
Highlighter
Glow getters will love the improved luminosity and finely milled highlight. It layers beautifully on top of makeup and still looks natural for that clean girl makeup look. As someone who prefers a subtle highlight on the top of my cheek bones, I’m very content with the new and improved highlighter.
Cream Concealer
The enhanced formula offers more coverage and staying powder; performers better on dry, oily and aging skin. The concealer also includes skin-conditioning ingredients including Bayberry fruit wax and vitamin E as well as coffee seed oil. If you’re looking for your 2.0 shade, check out this handy chart here.
Bronzer
There are no changes to the bronzer formula but a new shade has been added to the lineup. Subtl swapped Chai for Leche, a slightly warmer undertone for those with fair skin tones.
Stack 2.0 offers the same prices as 1.0 despite all the added bells and whistles. Refills will cost less too! You can shop Subtl Stak 2.0 here.
