Why you need a portable makeup stack for work
I’m excited to feature an indie beauty brand on the blog! I think the products they sell is right up my alley and perfect for the makeup minimalist. Subtl Beauty is a woman-owned beauty brand that sells portable makeup stacks for women on-the-go. Keep reading for a discount code!
There’s something very appealing to me about having everything I need in one “stak,” without having to sift through my makeup bag for individual products.
The Subtl Beauty Stak is described as small, but mighty tower of cream and powder formulas for your complexion, plus:
— 3.5g of formula in each layer
— free mirror lid, brush, base
— 3-5 months of daily usage
Each stack is catered to the individual’s needs. You can choose between building your own stack or for a streamlined experience, you can go with the Starter Stak. All products are cruelty-free and free of gluten, fragrance and parabens.
I would recommend the Starter Stak for anyone that’s new to Subtl Beauty or a makeup beginner. The Starter Stak includes a cream concealer in the shade of your choice, lip cheek in the shade terracotta tour guide, a powder bronzer tailored based on your concealer shade, a powder highlighter in shade champagne, and a translucent shine control powder.
I’ve been a fan of Subtl Beauty since I was first introduced to the brand in 2021. I carry my Subtl Stak almost everywhere I go but it really comes in clutch for my 9 to 5 work week.
Here’s why having a portable makeup stak at work is so convenient:
- Using this ‘stak’ takes the guesswork out of getting ready! If I don’t have time to do a full face of makeup before work, I can bring it with my and apply all the essentials at my desk.
- There are a lot of brands that tout their products as ‘portable’ but this indie brand actually lives up to the expectation. My stak comfortably fits in the palm of my hand, can easily fit in any purse, and the lids stay on tight so no risk of a makeup mess.
- My stack includes handy tools including a small brush, brush cleaner and built-in mirror, making it convenient to use at my desk without having to go to the women’s room.
- The concealer does a good job covering up any redness and brightening my under eye, which is a must for early morning meetings! I would equate the formula to Glossier Stretch Concealer, except this version is so much more affordable. The coverage is buildable and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin.
- Lip and Cheek in the shade Mauve in the Maldives is my favorite that looks good on my fair skin tone. It has a dewy finish and it also doubles as a lip tint if you like a monochromatic makeup look.
- Subtl’s eyeshadow duos may be my all-time favorite layer in the stak. Jelly is my everyday go-to shade, even on the weekends.
- Champagne highlighter isn’t glittery or blinding so it gives me a natural glow for daytime wear.
- Daily use of each layer can last at least two months (although I found my previous stack lasted much longer than that). It’s truly ideal for the makeup minimalist or someone who prefers to do makeup touch-ups throughout the day.
- If you like wearing a full face of makeup, the stak ticks almost every box. All you need is a tube of mascara and possibly a brow gel to complete your look!
Over the few months Subtl has expanded their collection and launched new products including: expanded concealer shade range, cream highlighter, stak refills, and a variety of tools and brushes to go with your stack. The brand is incredibly generous and has gifted me most of their new launches so my stack keeps growing!
The Starter Stack is available to shop here for $60 and it comes with a free mirror lid, brush and base. You can also customize your own stack for $12-$18 per product. Subtl Beauty also wanted to offer a discount for blog readers! Get 10% off any purchase with code KARA10
This post is not sponsored. Subtl Beauty gifted me with the Starter Stack and makeup brush for editorial consideration. As always, all opinions are my own.
This is such a cool idea! Also the packaging is adorable.
It really is! I love the idea of having all my makeup touch ups in one container. Thank you so much for reading, Rachel!
